PSHE Short Course

This course is designed to give students the skills, knowledge and understanding which will help prepare them to lead confident, healthy and responsible lives as confident individuals and members of society. It looks to improve their personal wellbeing and self esteem and make them aware of what they need to do to become a thriving member of modern society. 

The subject is divided up into eleven main sections which are covered in depth and detail.

By studying the course students will develop a greater awareness of lifestyle issues including how to keep themselves and others safe. It will allow them to develop an understanding of structures at work and potential dangers faced by young people as they become adults. They will explore how and why to make wise choices in their relationships and lifestyles and how to be successful in the future. 

Students create a portfolio of evidence of their learning activities. This will contain: a record of challenges completed, with supporting evidence for each challenge. Recording documents, showing how learners have planned and reviewed their activities and a summary of achievement, highlighting skills development. They will also include a personal statement relating to what they have learnt.
